A few of us went up last weekend to have a good look around after the fires/floods. The area has been absolutely devastated, especially as a result of the floods. Some of the river crossing are now impassable as a result of the debris, & a few that you can get to have entry/exit points that are now extremely difficult.
All the Deep Creek tracks are impassable, well Deep Creek 1 is not now, after all the work we put in to clear the fallen trees/debris on the rocky creek section. For those who know the track, it has now changed dramatically & unless you have a modified vehicle with good clearance & lockers, DONT GO THERE
What it has done is convinced me to get rock sliders as the side steps on my NL suffered some discomfort
. Whilst the majority of tracks remain open & not subject to seasonal closures, if you go up there be prepared to either turn around or make sure everyone has a chainsaw. A couple of pics;
