  • Plastic flare repair

Is it possible to bog and repaint plastic flares on guards etc. My wife can't
reverse and check mirrors at the same time. She backed into a solid letterbox
and gouged the drivers side guard. They all need attention anyway.
    Any help appreciated

To some degree, if its deeply scratched or something, sure - if there are holes or something youll need to support it from behind obviously. As for painting, being that its not bare plastic, theres no need for primers or anything.

Is there any problem with the rest of the flares being "dimpled", not completely smooth? If I fill and sand the gouges etc. will it stand out too much against the rest?

Depends on your gun, i think the dimples your reffering to are orange peal - so straight of the gun without being rubbed back would leave you with a very simular finish.

Further to that, wats worse, gouges or a slightly smoother finish?
