  • Swb soft top

Does anyone have any current information regarding replacing the soft top and sunroof on a 92 SWB. I have been trying for a while now and have not been able to find anyone that is currently supplying them.
NH ragtop shorty, 2.5 tdi, safari snorkel, lifted around 2" but after 26 yrs of abuse looks and feels like a whole lot more everyday car that turns into a miniature beast when called on.

    SWB Soft Top

We put a new top on my son's shorty a couple of years ago. I think it was an AusTops Product, but not 100% sure. I will probably see the vehicle on Sunday and I am sure it had it embossed in the material. The back was easy, the sun roof was a real pain but ultimately successful and still looks pretty good even though it is out in the weather all the time.

Just found an invoice. Definitely Austops, but wasn't cheap - $1600 including payment for some specialist help in fitting the replacement sunroof.

I rang aus tops earlier today and I am waiting for them to reply as the boss was away and the guy I spoke to was under the impression they aren't able to get anymore of them. But fingers xed.

As far as I know the soft-top Shane made for me & I received early August, was the last one he was making for a Pajero. Probably stopped doing the far more complex J-top due to the health problems he's had, or someone else is now making the easier Suzuki Austop products for him.
Good luck, as it took ages for mine to be made!

Know for a fact most of those colours were unavailable when I ordered mine back in April, & it was the last of the white material!

              Replacement Soft Tops

When we were looking for the son's replacement, we found that there was a 'hard top' replacement, IIRC made in Italy. I have not actually seen any in real life, but there are a few aussie pictures on the web, I think mostly from QLD. Apparently they are reasonably common in NZ also.

Assuming that one can be found, I would hate to think what the cost would be.

Austops does still have a few left, but once they are gone that's it he's not making any more.
Current colors as of today are Dune (sandy color), dark green, light blue (sky),
                beach (off white) & maroon.
                Hope that helps.
