I know it's a longshot and also possibly a pointless question to ask but the answer may also prove someone at work wrong. Is there any chance that a towbar of a 1992 NH will fit on a 2002 NM ?

Considering the NH - NL was a full chassis and the NM onwards was a monocoque shell, the towbars will be completely different. You'd have as much fun making a L/Cruiser - Patrol towbar fit."So many projects, so little time... even less money!"
