Fitting Driving Lights

I have a set of Cibie driving lights to install on my Pajero. My question is what side of the vehicle should the pencil beam (long range) be fitted?

spot/pencil beams generaly go on the drivers side in a sopt/spread combo - it give best long distance coverage of the road while the spread fills in the middle and lights up the area outside the driving lane
