What length awning do you have?

I am looking to buy a side awning and am note sure about which size get. The options as far as I can tell are either a 2.0m or 2.5m down the length of the car and asume the longer the better, but does a 2.5m awning fit ok...

What length and width of side awning do forumites have on their Paj?

I went with a 2.0m which pulls out 2.5.

I'm not regretting going 2.5m long but I would be regretting not going out 2.5m.

I just went through the same process..

Ended up with the Ironman 2.0M Long 2.5 out I have a full flat Rack & it's just about level front & rear..

Bonus has LED lighting. scissor pegs & good quality rope.

From this pic you can see that an extra .5 M would see it hang over the roof line on a Paj:

I've got the same awning as Gus.
Whether you go for 2.0 or 2.5 long, you have to consider how far apart your roof bars are spaced also. No good having a meter of awning hanging past the fwd roof bar unsupported....
In my opinion, 2.5 long fits nicely on a Cruiser or Patrol but is a bit too long on a Pajero / Prado.....

Mine is 2.5 long 2.1 out mainly because when I bought it all these cheaper different siEd ones weren't on the market. I have it hang a little past the rear (almost vertically inline with the rear tail lights) and it lines up close to the windscreen. It may not look the best but I prefer having the longer side protected from weather by the car. Really happy and wouldn't really consider a 2m long if I had the choice.

If I were to buy again I'd be tossing up between the arb 2.5x2.5 or going the whole hog with a supapeg/ostrich/rhino wing style to cover the back also.

Many thanks for all the replies and the pics too. Guess what my trouble and strife is getting me for Christmas....

Have settled on a 2.0 long x 2.5 out. Would have liked the long side against the car but want to minimise the overhang and it should fit neatly up against the 2.1 m roof basket.

I had my heart set on fitting an Ostrich wing and just realised they are 2.7m long when packed! This would have it hanging way out the front. My main concern with this is that I think anything hanging in front of the roof mounted lightbar is going to be a problem with reflection. So I think now. I will be looking at a standard style awning 2.0m long x 2.5m out.

Now. I am trying to find an awning in a hard case in the above size but not having much luck, the Eezi awns etc all seem to be only 2.1m out. I like the hard case idea rather than in a bag, as I think these would stand up to the closed in tracks better, but I think anything under 2.5m out is just not enough.

Does anyone know of any hard case retractable awnings in 2.0m x 2.5 out?

Mines, 2.5 along the vehicle, 2m out. Not sure what sort of reflection you're worried about with the bar? Haven't had wear and tear issues with the soft case either

If I went with the Ostrich wing at 2.7m it would be sitting out in front of the lightbar and forward of the windscreen, its packed size is also 300mm high, so I figured the lightbar would be lighting up the bit forward of the windscreen and I would probably see it from the drivers side. Not really sure?
I'd love the Ostrich Wing for its ease of use and amount of cover it provides, but think it might be a bit too long for the Paj?

Anyone got an Ostrich wing fitted on their Paj? Be good to see some pics.
