  • Oricom 2180 2W Trade Pack $149

I need to get a UHF CB asap, I saw Repco advertise these Twin Pack Oricom 2180 for $149 with hard case, 2x car chargers, 2x 240v chargers, 8 rechargable batteries with a 3 yr guarantee. Are they any good? I can get a 5w single hand held Oricon with 12v recharger for the same $149. Or should I steer away for Oricom? What should I buy?
NP 05 Platinum Edition, 3.2 DiD Auto, Extra H/D 50mm Kings, Garmin GPS, Waeco 40, Turbo Smart Boost Gauge, Lambwool Covers, Kumo Tyres, Rock Sliders Pending, Surrey Downs Adelaide Sth Aust.

I recently got to have a play with the UHF2180s and was pleasantly surprised. They don't feel as heavy / robust as my Uniden UH075s, but they are about 1/4 the price.

I will be adding a set to my kit very soon.

$109 from here, free shipping. I've never bought from them so i don't know how reliable they are.

Thanks Guys for your Good Advice, I will try to pick up the Hand Held Kit tomorrow at Repco, I like to Deal Direct with a Shop I know and Trust plus if I have to return it, theres usually No Problems. This Kit comes with a Hard Case so all the Bits Don't get lost or Damaged.

I'm like you hobbo , so bought Oricom 2W in a sale at Supercheap about 2 years ago and no issues at all. Only reason Uniden feel heavier is the fat AA batts. I get more than a day from the AAA and always take the second unit plus carry spare batteries when camping. Best warranty too.
