  • Gen2 fuel pump

Anyone had to replace one yet?

My NH has been on Dual fuel for over 6 months now, and so far so good. Every week or so it gets a run on Petrol, and the LPG system is one that starts on Petrol before switching over. The other day it started becoming harder to start, requiring more cranking than usual. Flick it over to petrol and it stalled. I'm guessing it's the pump, but I'll do a filter while I'm at it. (Out of sight, out of mind... been a while since it's been done!!) Lets just try and not run out of gas till the weekend.

It starts on petrol but after a couple of seconds it automatically swaps to gas. It just means cranking till it swaps over.

So I guess no-one has done one yet.

I finally got around to doing this. I've been putting it off as the vehicle is on LPG and the original fuel tank has been replaced by an LRA auxillary fuel tank. What this means is that the access panel in the cargo area under the carpet that allows you to replace the original fuel pump fairly quickly and easily is pretty much now just a hole to nowhere.

Now the job entails jacking the vehicle up, removing the passenger's rear wheel, and removing the same side rear shocker, just to get easier access to everything attached to the fuel pump panel on the tank. Also, to withdraw the pump assembly from the tank required lowering one end of the tank.

All up, a 1/2 hour job with original fuel tank turned into a 3 hour job, but without the dramas I was anticipating.
