So the mates NL 2.8 (160000km) came home on a trailer last night. Been using a small amount of water over the LWE (say less than a litre). No sign of water in the oil, oil in the coolent etc, running well etc. Towing up the Freeway the temp gauge shot up, steam coming from the intercooler and a top tank split. Anyone got any thoughts about what went wrong? (besides the obvious). Is the thermostat or radiator cap or other component the suspect? Something to do next weekend it seems!
