  • RF60 Evakool Fridge Freezer Combo

    http://www.evakool.com/DualTemp/index.shtml

Cost $1200 with 240 to 12/24V power converter.

80Ah battery (unit in back of Pajero):
20L fridge + cool zone about 5 days
    60L fridge about 3 - 4 days
    Fridge+Freezer about 30 Hours

    Good:
Fridge and Freezer at the same time.
Battery lasts a reasonable amount of time.

    Bad:
The fibreglass chips easily (external and internal) - can be fixed easily but a problem as the fibreglass is only 1mm thick.
Manual says you require a 50mm foam under unit when using on bad roads.
Cig Lighter plug melts - REPLACE WITH PROPER PLUG IMMEDIATELY

So this must also apply to their eskys as all the Evakool F/Fis is one of their eskys with a danfoss compressor attached.

There are covers available for these apparently. I'm considering one of these for my first F/F.

Forgive my naivety. What's a proper plug?
        Cheers,

Do not use the standard Cig lighter plug - I suggest using the spare 2pin plug (they supply) directly wired (via circuit breaker) to the battery.
