  • Barringtons Last weekend

Went to Barrington Tops last weekend. We were told that the Scone road was closed on the Barrington side due to the rain and snow, but we were determined to get up there, so we went via Scone. The people at Scone said the road was closed as well, but, well, we had gone this far, might as well have a bo-peep. Just before we got to the tops, we came across a NP&WS fella who said the road was just opened 5 minute before hand. Woohoo, had a great time in the snow.

I have only been in Newcastle for 2 years, so can't comment on a trend, but I'm led to believe that it happens most of the time during middle winter. Ring the Scone Info centre before going.
