Tyre load ratings

Hi,

Im looking at upgrading my road tyres on my nj to a set of 31x10.5R15 cooper st's or 31x10.5R15 Mickey Thompson mtz's. The only problem i have encounted is load ratings, my tyre placard says i need a tyre with a load rating of 110. The coopers and the Mickey Thompsons are 109.

I was wondering if anybody has had a problem with insurance companies not accepting a claim etc because of this issue?

I think that you're going to struggle to get anything with at least 110 load rating for an after market tyre. If you're worried about it, why not give your insurance company a call.

109 load rating has a maximum rating of 1030kg, so that 4120kg across 4 tyres before you there's a potential issue. You'd have to have a load of at least 1.5 tonnes before you even reach this...

Ok. Sounds like a plan. Thanks. You haven't heard of insurance companies giving special consideration for this problem by any chance have you? Anyway ill give it a try. Thanks.
