  • NL speakers??

I finally got some pics of my new toy
99 NL Escape, I think I am in love my wife is convinced I am having an affair with my Pajero and hey why wouldn't I LOL. Anyhow very happy with my purchase, loving the Dual fuel too. My question is, does anyone know what size speakers are in the front and rear?? as I don't want to chop her up if I don't have to. H/U already replaced with a Kenwood MP3 player much to the kids delight and mine too.

NL Escapes dont have speakers in the front doors (i've looked at installing some in mine but couldnt be bothered).

The GLS model does however... Not sure about the GLX.

Sorry, cannot remember the dimensions or outputs of the front dash or rear... Been too long (i miss my paj!!! )

      Nice looking Escape.
What else has been done to it???

yeah your right they are in dash at knee height, just the grill on the door. Not for long though, I can smell a project coming on 6" splits front doors maybe 6 1/2" might have to fibreglass some pods. oh well no more fun than DIY

My NL GLS has speaker type grills in the door panel, not sure if the Escape has these. There are no speakers in there standard. Like the link to the other post, two layers of MDF were needed to get the spacing and clear the window. Take some measurements before you buy the speakers to check the depth won't be too much and foul the window
I have a 6" (or maybe 6.5", can't remember) woofer in the doors, 4" mids in the dash and tweeters on top of the dash. The amp fits up under the driver's seat on some brackets onto the seat frame - even when you look for it you could miss it, as do the crossovers.
6x9's are standard in the rear, but they are rubbish. Be prepared for a pr*#k of a job to fit new ones, but it is worth it.

The Escape (mine anyway) does indeed have the grills in the doors, so this makes one part of the process easier!
