According to the part of the VIN in the ad it is a NJ, ie
    JMFNJ5Z45PJ######

One of a very few with that little kms for that age vehicle if genuine.
NS SWB X 3.2DiD - Factory locker, Hella spotties, GME UHF, roof racks otherwise stock as a rock.

Retired: 1991 NH SWB 3.0L V6 5sp Manual, Mickey Thompson ATZs, GME UHF TX3200.
Wanting: Rocksliders, 2" lift, snorkel or perhaps I should wait and purchase a NS swb in 12months time.

I personally wouldn't be paying $8000 for it. It's still just a bog standard NJ, nothing special.

Maybe it's my eyes, but the VIN on the rego label doesn't match the VIN posted in the ad. Looks like it's NH to me.

Everyone seems to be getting caught up which is not directly the fault of the seller. The seller has advertised it as an NJ, not an NH. Their mistake, sure, they probably clicked a wrong button creating the advert.

The partial VIN everyone is referring to in the "other" section is not entered by the owner/seller, but rather its auto filled by the site, hence why its called a sample VIN. Its not the VIN of that specific car, hence the hashes instead od numbers. Carsales does this for just about every car. The seller is not guilty of trying to pull a fast one here ie nothing dodgy about it. Some people have no clue what the difference is. Do a search for 2006 NP Pajero, and see how many NS Pajeros are advertised as NP's as people either don't know the difference, or don't realise they have clicked the wrong option.

Honest mistake in making the ad, that's all it would be.
              Cheers, Bundy.
