  • engine stalls

My Pajero is 92 model NH series GLS 3.0 litre EFI petrol engine stalls when the engine revs are allowed to drop, the revs will drop right down and the red light ?check engine? will come on and the engine stalls, i.e. when pulling up.
I?m not sure what next to do as have replaced the ECU and the crank angle sensor and it still does it. Anyone had similar experiences

Look at a recent forum with the Subject Engine Surges.

Your Problem is the ISC Motor.

What led you to replace the ecu and crank angle sensor? I agree with mitsir, your iacv... prolly need replacing but a clean with carby cleaner or there like may do the trick.

Common thing with Mitsubishi V6's, both Paj's & Magnas.

When the Idle Speed Control Motor goes 'Kaput', It'll either Idle very low to the point of stalling, particularly when the engine's warm and the choke's off, or It'll idle up round the 2000rpm mark. There are companies that can supply you a reco one on a change-over basis.

Thanks to all for your assistance, I was led to replacing the other items by the auto electrician. Hopefully I get my car back today as he is having another go at fixing it.
I think I?ll have a go at replacing the ISC myself. Thanks again.

You can buy new and genuine Mitsubishi Idle Speed Control motor from eBay at around $100. Very easy to replace the ISC motor.

The ISC is also very easy to remove, disassemble, clean, reassemble and replace. Fixed the problem for me.
