  • Noise when cold - power steering?

In the old forum I remember a thread about a noise that only happened when the engine was cold, sounded like a fan catching on something. I also seem to recall that it was related to the power steering system. Can anyone shed more light on this?

    thanks

    Scott

edit: this is on a 1999 NL petrol model

While its doing it gently grab the aluminium lines where they pass the radiator on drivers side on their way to power steer cooler. If there is a problem with the pump you can feel it here like sand(air) passing through. Being further removed from the engine vibration it tends to only indicate your pump. Make sure you are feeling the right lines as the engine oil cooler lines also pass here.
