  • 2.8 Nm Oil change

Can someone assist a newcomer to your forum,

What is the best oil to use on my 2001 NM diesel 2.8lt Pajero, both for best lubrication and noise level (not that its too noisey) Only done 50,000ks.
Also is it best to change the oil filter at the interim services (ie between scheduled services)
All the threads I've read so far about oil refer to the later 3.2 model.

Your help would be appreciated. mat59

My Pajero is stock standard (Apologies to all you enthusiasts)

I use Caltex DELLO 15W40 and change it every 5000 k with a filter change every 10000k. Have 110 000 k up with no problems. Inside of the rocker cover is clean as a whistle. Stan

Mat59, I have the same model as you with 100 000kms on the clock. I have been using the Mitsubishi branded Diesel Oil (2 X 5litre bottles from the dealer) and change it and the filter every 5000kms. Probably overkill, but I plan to keep this vehicle for the long term and look after it accordingly. Best vehicle I have owned.
