  • Front skid plate holes & water crossing

Hi, still another question on water crossing.

On NM, NP, and NS, as we know, the front skid plate has opening / holes in front, below the bumper. Would covering - or not covering - those holes make any difference when the water level gets higher? So far my tarp only covers from the bumper right to bonnet, but leaving those holes below the bumper open (but then I've never tackled really deep waters).

Any experience to share or suggestion would be most appreciated.

    Thanks,

Isn't one of the purposes of the tarp across the front to not only create a bow wave, but also to hold in a "bubble" of air under the bonnet? The underside of the engine is totally open, I don't think that the holes in the skid plate would make much difference - there's too much else open down at that level around them.
    Ben
