thanks mate, im stoked it all worked out as reading the stories on here i expected the aircon not to work properly etc. but aircon & heater tested today all works fine

only thing is instead of cutting into the frame to allow a shorter path for the temperature cable, i used the cable tie method to hold it, and im not sure how long the cable ties will hold up as there is a fair amount of pressure when adjusting the dial. At least i know how to pull it all apart to repair if need be

thanks, its a sony XAV-63 which is at the cheaper end of the spectrum, but the sound is great and has all the features i need. Has reverse camera, subwoofer & DVD out connections
