  • Dash light while towing?

    Hi Guys
Hope someone can shed some light on this?

Car is a 2005 NP DID Auto

I noted today while towing our camper (2012 Jayco eagle outback) on a light uphill gradient 2 lights came on on the dash...
The engine light, then the traction control off and then the traction control on light...

    Revs didnt get over 3000rpm
Speed was just under 100kph, but i was accelerating, not hard just controlled

    Shifter was in D

Shortly after reaching the crest of the hill, all lights went off...

Car drove fine the whole trip....

    Any ideas?

i had the same thing too and i wasnt towing.....

    check your oil, air filter
check all switches and connectors that you can at the top of the engine a
i dont know, next i will inspect all vacuum lines..

and the throttle thing (near the input of the inlet manifold..) sometimes the pin holding it together falls off..

its standard for stability and traction control to turn off when the check engine light comes on.

Has a current Vic roadworthy (valid from the 28/04/2016)

alot of cars will show warning lights when the trans fluid overheats

maybe this was the case in your pajero, and if so need to fit an aftermarket trans cooler. Heat kills transmissions.

              3000 revs?
my 2003 DiD auto in D (at 110 kph in cruise) does 2050 unladen/2300 with 2.5 ton full sized van on flat ground. On a slight incline those will change to approx 2100/2450. If the speed drops back noticably on rises I will shed cruise & I will maintain 2300 & let Paj ease back, change up, or whatever it decides.
Are you having too much slippage, hence maybe heat as Mitsu M suggests?
