NS DiD Map Sensor?

Have driven from Adelaide to Nerranderra and stopped for a break (800 k).

Car restarts and within 5k goes into limp mode, displaying ASC OFF light on the dash.

NRMA attended and cleared computer of fault and advised me to head to Wagga to MM dealership.
My research says its the MAP sensor, I am now waiting on MM to diagnose and fix (please).

Outside of warranty, but this is surely a known issue by MM???

any thoughts??

Hi There Roy. follow the map sensor vacume line down to the inlet manifold and poke a piece of wire in the hole in the steel tube that comes off the manifold and unblock it from a piece of carbon build up

MAP sensors do fail but not common, more likely blocked by soot at the junction of the manifold, as already suggested above
