  • Favourite additions and mods...

    So, what's your favourite accessory(s) & mod(s). Here's mine, first to last.

    Done/Inprogress
    1. AT tyres (will probably go MT for the next set). If you do nothing else these improve the paj's offroad ability 100%
    2. Towbar ? rear recovery point is essential.
    3. Bullbar ? protection in roo/deer country & off road driving, great approach angle, driving light mount
    4. Driving lights, very good driving lights....
    5. Steel plate intercooler, sump, transmission and transfer case controls guards (italics = work still in progress)
5a. - late edition - extensions to all the breathers
5b. - another late entry - taped up and painted the lower sills with bitumen paint
    6. Spare battery cradle and wires ? mainly for lights when camping.
    7. Air compressor (still working out whether to mount it or not...)

Future dreams (aka I may end up sleeping with the dog if i keep spending her money....):
    8. Safari snorkel when available (having drowned a diesel I will never drown another....)
    9. Steel tube rails/sliders ? designed and currently waiting construction
    10. Some sort of larger/aux tank or a cradle for a couple of fuel cans on the roof rack
    11. 1"-2" HD spring lift would help a bit offroad
    12. UHF when I get around to it.
    13. Tyre monitor system - looks like good insurance for the price of a tyre or two
    14. Fit some sort of water bladder in the back door or side panel?
    14. AND last, but not least, a DPF fix (just a dream at the moment)

Most useless mod to date painted the wheel arches with bitumen paint, it did nothing to deaden the sound and took all bloody day!

I have to admit that the little bugger is quite a capable 4wd - more so than I gave it credit for

      Nice list.

Looking forward to getting my Paj so I can start my own list.

I would be putting the snorkel up near the top of the list though.

I was also thinking that the room you have when you remove the 3rd row seats in the wagon might be a good place for a custom water tank.
      thanks,

Favourite accessories? Long range tank, driving lights, 2nd battery and reversing camera (Waeco)

          Doesn't everyone keep a Tatts/Lotto list?
Some are simple/cheap but the financial controller isn't approving anything car related.

          In no particular order:
          • Bash plates (replace the plastic ones, cover the long range tank and protect the large 'sand scoop' bumper)
          • Turbo timer
          • Compressor
          • Decent speakers (standard ones are woeful)
          • Tyre pressure monitoring
          • Voltage guage for 2nd battery
          • Fuel gauge for long-range tank
          • Exhaust temp gauge
          • Replace the pathetic 'heavy duty' roof racks

Any chance of a photo Wilmo? Nothing on their site about a number plate mounted system.

Aren't the two standard recovery points at the rear sufficient?

                    Wilmo,
Would you be able to post up a pic of your touchscreen and where you put the computer.

I have a 7" touchscreen with car computer and running Ozi Explorer as well. I have been wondering where I will mount it all when I finally get the Paj.
                    thanks,

Mine sits in the back where my son drives it. I feed the video to the pc screen in the back and to the reversing camera screen in the front (too small though. Can't read any text but it's sufficient to see routes/waypoints on Ozi)

They are in production at present and will be available shortly! All the details will be posted on our new web site. (I'm involved with the business). Also, we are going to commercialise a touch screen interface and mount for the front, to be used with a Laptop and a special way of mounting the laptop shortly. After that an in car PC that'll install under the passenger seat for running oziexplorer, with the same interface that we use for the laptop in the front. You will be able to use the PC to do a lot more as well (MP3's, pictures, videos etc).

Pic of the steel plate sump guard and transmission guard fitted so far. For those in melbourne they are available from Brown Davis in Bayswater(Vic). I'm not sure if they will ship them outside Vic? I'm waiting for a safari snorkel to come out as they are going to make up a template for the front plate when it's in getting the snorkel fitted. I'm not sure of the exact reatil price, around $150 to $180 ea I think?
The plates bolt on to the chasis and you can ride the weight of the vehicle on them without buckling/deflection.
