  • Looking at buying NT GLX

    G'day
I've been looking online for a little while, but went and test drove one today

NT GLX 3.2Diesel, Auto has done about 80k KMs. Pretty nice to drive, but did notice a little smoke - is that normal?

Waiting on them letting me know what they will give me for a trade in, but also want to check out a few others.

Smac you dont say what year you are looking for 80Ks this would give an idea how its been treated also what price is it at? when you say a little smoke what colour? blue is possible rings needed black could be turbo or fuel pump needing attension or the computor sending wrong signals to the pump or it could be some thing as simple as needing new fuel filters
you could always buy subject to an independant mechanicle check
    any how good luck

Sorry mate - this one I test drove is a 2011 NT. It wasn't much smoke, just noticed a bit float past as we pulled up at the lights (May not even have been the Paj - but I couldn't see anyone else)
      They want $35k for it

Are you specifically looking for a GLX?

Theres a few GLS's on carsales that are around the $38k mark, and the extra bits and pieces you get in them might make the extra $3k purchase price worthwhile if you are considering adding them down the track anyway?

Same year/less km's, sidesteps, privacy glass, bluetooth etc etc.... ??

I don't know what your plans are, but that's just what i decided when i bought mine 6 months ago...

All the best in the hunt for a new beast! Its exciting isn't it!

Is the GLX your looking at on carsales? the one with odd tyres on it?

            HI

A check of air and pollen filters may provide some information re previous history. The pollen filter is behind the glovebox and requires two screws removed to access. Lots of dirt on either filter may indicate use in a dusty environment. Blocked filter may contribute to smoke.

80,000kms seems a lot to me for a 2 year old vehicle, let alone having a little smoke etc. Should be almost "as new", as far as I'm concerned. Although, what would I know, mine has done less than half those k's, for a late 2010 model NT.
              Cheers, Tony.

Having recently bought a 2011 NT with 90K I wouldn't be too concerned re KM. Check the service history and avoid if not complete. I found a few that let oil changes run to 26k KM- these I wouldn't touch. The 90k service with blue coolant will be upwards of $1150. This does not include auto trans flush which is due at 195k!! Perhaps try to get 90k service included in price
