  • Which Filter?

I am seeing a deal of 3 filters on ebay ($86) manufactured by WIX. Is it considered a good brand? I hadn't heard of it before. What is the recommended Oil and Fuel filters for Diesel NW 2011?

Thanks for sharing. I just went to Donaldson website and looks like they know what they are doing with filters. I love using products from specialised manufacturers instead of jack-of-all-trades manufacturers :-) thanks for sharing.

I purchase mine from MTU detroit diesels. was around 75-85 dollars for all 3 filters.

I have had the oil tested at 15 k and all is good so I have no issues with running the 15k oil change intervals.

I am thinking of getting K&N Air filter and Donaldson for Fuel and Oil filter. I had K&N previously in my MX5 3rd Gen and Subaru Forester as well, seems to help engine breath a bit better than traditional filters.

You are right, I think I need to move away from K&N. Now that I have ordered it already, I might sell it on gumtree.
Here is some good homework done on testing airfilters and showing K&N passes a lot of dirt/dust.

another test was done by one of the guys on ALRO

He was /is a filter engineer.

tested K/N against OEM and aftermarket, Paper won hands down every time with regard to filtering.

was a great read will see if I can find it.

How about foam filters? Are they any good? Any readings on those? I am reading that they are good for off-roading as used in rally cars which go offroad.
