In my experience, setting the aircon to minimum temp (18 degrees in the Paj) means it never tries to heat, regardless of incoming air temperature. Any temp above 18, it might try to heat the incoming air. Does this behaviour occur if you're on minimum...
For those who may be interested, I have a few Top Spins in stock at the moment. Inevitably, pricing for the Top Spins have gone up since I first posted, but adaptors remain the same - first and last posts have been updated with new pricing, I'm not...
For those who may have been following this thread, I am finally offering some kits for sale. Spacer kits, to extend the frame for the spare tyre cover - originally designed to create space for a bag on the wheel,...
It's to do with the number of teeth in the driven gear, which compensates for various combinations of diff ratio and tyre size. The driving gear in the transfer case doesn't change, so the teeth on that define the required pitch. As the number of teeth...
True - and, in the real world, the mathematics behind most modern technology doesn't work without it - i, the imaginary number, aka j in the electrical realm....

If the driver is sufficiently aware, they might stick to 80-90km/h and never have problems (probably cause a few for other road users, but not have problems themselves).
Is there any visible sign of both bulbs being illuminated together i.e. does the brake light glow (even slightly) when the indicator is glowing / does the indicator glow (even slightly) when the brake light is on?
I'm sure you understand this stuff better than I do, and I agree that it was unnecessarily confusing - but I thought this bloke had previously derided weight distribution hitches because (according to him) they can't actually redistribute any weight,...
I'd love to know who he spoke to at Redarc, as I think the answer he received was wrong. Connecting the blue wire to a switched ignition source should fix the problem....
You need to confirm with calculations at the pump.
Your chip is injecting more fuel than the factory computer thinks it is injecting, so how can the computer accurately reflect your consumption? You're burning fuel that the factory computer...
I can't speak for Mav, but I'd guess it's the seal on the output of the transmission. The transfer case would need to come out to access it, which isn't too bad in the auto - it's all electronic controls, so there are no mechanical linkages to disconnect....
I have one in my NT, and it causes zero issues. I don't need special oil, it doesn't do forced burn-offs, if it has any impact on fuel consumption it's negligible - when I travel with other similarly modified Gen...
For alloys, probably. The sleeved nuts for the factory alloys don't centre the wheel - the wheel centres on the hub. If the alternate rims use seats that are designed to accept tapered nuts then the nuts will centre the wheel, and centring rings are...
Your rear suspension is essentially the same as in the PB / PC Challenger. Read OJ's (many) posts on upgrade options for Challenger, and pick a solution you like.
So it was my turn for one of these problems, but I didn't get the 20km of driving before it started - mine would come up as soon as I moved the lever from 2H. Green lights would go out, orange centre diff light...
Physically interchangeable, but be aware that the Gen 3 is about 10‰ lighter than the Gen 4. A lift designed for a Gen 4 could be a little stiffer / higher in a Gen 3....
In my opinion, the only people not surprised are those who still don't know. Careful consideration is definitely warranted, and you're already way ahead of most - including many who have been doing this for decades.
Welcome to the forum, and welcome to the world of 4wd touring - you're starting out the right way by recognising that weight is an important issue to keep under control.
Agreed. The results for the Sunwa filter were quite impressive, but there was no discussion about whether or not the particle sizes that passed through the other two would be problematic for a common rail engine.
Unless you have a ridiculously large display that is literally interrupting view to the front of the vehicle I don't believe your average police officer cares.
If somebody has received a ticket for an 8" tablet on the dash I suspect...
I had Dobinson MRRs in the rear, until they required the last rebuild, when Dobinson could no longer source suitable bushes for one end. They offered me a good price on MRAs for the rear, but their standard kit is designed for the remote canisters to...
Possibly. Have you stuck your head under the vehicle to look at your transfer case?
My guess, your transfer case hadn't fully engaged low range, and under load it effectively spat itself out of gear i.e. the selector that connects the main...
I've had a noise from the front that only happened when turning - finally, somebody else pointed out that the cable for the front driver's ABS sensor wasn't routed properly, and intermittently rubbing on the CV boot. Not difficult to have a quick l...
That only makes a significant different on solid axles, where the axis of the wheel swings with the axis of the drive shaft. On the Pajero's independent suspension the control arms keep the axis of the wheels much closer to horizontal as the axis of...
I used to spend a bit of time driving around outback Queensland, and over the course of 5 years I noticed there weren't too many colours of cars that always stand out all the time.
White, red, yellow, orange generally stand out. Blues,...
Mitsubishi made kits to convert the fogs to DRLs, Eagle Auto Parts had some that they flogged off on eBay at $95 + freight. I can't see them listed there any more, but if you do some digging on Partsouq you might find a part number for it?

I can't comment on "annealing" prints in an oven, but I do treat some of my ABS prints with acetone vapour. In my opinion, it does slightly increase the adhesion between layers (resist splitting) but I've seen some testing that suggests strength...
Yes, some people will tow in 5th when the conditions are right.
If you're a manual driver at heart, and like to change gears yourself, lockup-mate will do all that you need - lock the torque converter in 5th, change back to 4th (or lower)...
I was involved in attempting to troubleshoot a similar problem with a 3 litre NH about 10 years ago, which failed at Talbotville in the Vic High Country. I led us down a wrong path, and we weren't able to fix it, and it eventually was towed back to...
Something to keep in mind during your research: in my experience, people using 3D printers can typically be placed in one of two categories: those who are interested in the process, and those who are interested in the outcome.
There are reasons to be careful in 5th gear, for both autos and manuals.
In autos, holding 5th gear with the torque converter slipping is likely to lead to overheating of the transmission, and dumping extra heat into the engine cooling system....
I recently noticed a similar issue with codes appending the V5AWF - I concluded it was something to do with bell housings & transfer case adaptors, but that was only a guess. The info above from boritz could support the theory - one code is for the...
"Over-boosting" doesn't sound like a turbo-charger at the end of its life i.e. worn out beyond repair. If it can still produce too much boost I'd suspect the turbine itself is fine, and it's the variable vane mechanism that isn't working properly...
I still believe that, for me, the Gen 4 Pajero is the best thing this side of a 200 Series - and given that my budget won't extend to a 200 Series any time soon, I expect I'll have my Pajero for some time yet.
An automatic transmission is a collection of planetary gear sets with associated brakes and clutches that are hydraulically operated to determine which elements are locked together, which elements...
I don't think 105 degrees is too much to worry about, for a short period - maybe a minute or two. That's fluid temp, not necessarily the temp of the hardware, which will take a little while to "heat...
The heat in the ATF fluid comes, ultimately, from burning fuel. Any method of dealing with the heat that has been generated in the transmission is dealing with wasted fuel.
Reduce the amount of heat being generated in the first place -...
So, another January, another High Country Trip, another transfer case failure...
Our last day at Talbotville, before we were intending to plan a fun route through to the Walhalla region. To make for an enjoyable day of 4wding, our plan was...
Yep. Mitsubishi have been fined for complying with the law.
The official fuel consumption figures displayed on the stickers are derived from mandatory emissions tests - conducted in a laboratory under strict conditions....
My understanding is that wheels designed to use tapered nuts are relying on the nuts to centre the wheels properly, where wheels using sleeved nuts with flat washers (generally alloy wheels) are designed to centre on the hub.
As others have indicated, you need to find somebody who knows how to diagnose a fault and repair it, not simply replace the entire transmission. You wouldn't replace your engine because it has a faulty injector....
I would love to know how. While the torque converter is slipping it is producing more torque than it is receiving from the engine - locking the torque converter will result in less torque at the transmission input shaft. How does less torque strain the...
The V6 will have the Jatco transmission, and the issue is most likely to be the switch on the side of the transmission has fallen out of adjustment. Start with checking that....
As a general rule, I treat tyre shop employees with great scepticism - or probably cynicism is more accurate. Having said that, I have encountered a few that I considered to be trustworthy, and gave service and advice that I considered to be excellent....
Hi Jaffles, I'm with you 100%. But some of the more rabid Tesla fanbois are critical of hydrogen FCEVs for the reduced efficiency. And Mr Musk doesn't like them because he can't use them on Mars....
For years I never noticed a difference between 2H & 4H. After one particular tyre rotation (with Toyo MTRs - chunky tread blocks) I began to notice a "resonance" at light loads in 4H e.g. pulling ever so slightly at 60 km/h. Under higher...
I'm wondering if we (Australia) will need much bulk hydrogen transport.
We need charging stations for electric vehicles across our road network, and in many places it makes sense to install solar arrays to generate the electricity. ...
For all my Luddite ways, I agree that BEVs have a huge future and we are only just seeing the beginning. But I don't see myself owning one any time soon.
For an urban commuter car, I believe it's a no-brainer. So many benefits that have...
"Wind up" of the drive train occurs when the tyres can't slip to "differentiate" the different distances travelled by the front & rear tyres. There's a good chance they will slip on slippery grass. Personally,...
Where is it written that 285/70R17 requires an 8" wide rim? A quick look at the Cooper Tires Australian website shows 285/70R17 approved rim width is 7.5 - 9 inches. The factory 17" rim is an approved width.
I can't see the alignment marks on the gears - should they be the other way up?
My transfer case needed to be re-built because the locking mechanism for the centre diff got chewed out. This happened after others installed the reduction gears,...
Yes, I originally made a very rudimentary lock-up kit, before Marshall bought his NX. I now have a lockup-mate. I don't have auto-mate, as I can't stop using the paddles - auto-mate...
It is literally the aluminium case, that you see when you look at the transfer from outside. The lay shaft that transmits drive in low range has a beefy roller bearing on each end, and the shaft between the gears is short & also appears quite beefy....
We did this a couple of years ago, and we're doing it again.
A few of us are heading to the mouth of the Murray for a pre-Christmas get together, and I thought I'd throw it open to the forum. A bbq / lunch / responsible drink or two, all...
Songster? Not really. I have been known to sing, but that doesn't mean I do it well. I also don't play an instrument - I took that photo, I'm not starring in it.
I am in the last photo, but not too many members will pick me. ...
A particular story I recall from many years ago regarded an early adventurer, in an early Land Rover - and it's stuck with me. Every trip away, he carried, amongst other things, an entire rear axle assembly,...
I hope you're not looking for an argument from me.
Jason, it's not a lot to go on, but is that Stock Route? Regardless, thousands of Pajeros have driven High Country tracks like that countless times, so the driving shown in the...
I'm sure it would be an awesome beach cruiser, but I'm not sure how it would cope in the Vic High Country - ignoring any of those pesky realities like road worthiness, and registration.
Not all electronic devices are created equal. I once spent months trying to figure out why a prototype was radiating noise like a banshee - eventually it turned out that our "EMC Compliant" monitor was 6dB...
I may be barking up the wrong tree here, but multiple dash lights can indicate a blown hazard light fuse (which also affects alternator output). The next time you have the lights up, see if your hazard lights are working.
I understand the desire for more relaxed cruising, but remember that taller diff ratios will affect all your gears - which may or may not be a significant issue, depending on how your...
They do - I suspect this issue is poor communication.
As an example: ARB (no typo) have had issues with some of their DRL wiring harnesses in their bull bars, which use a diode for blocking. Under certain circumstances, with the diode shorted...
Sort of. Until the recent rise in "smart" alternators, most would regulate the charging voltage to somewhere around 14 - 14.5 V, with some temperature compensation - reduce the voltage as the battery gets hotter. These systems are great for...
Thanks for your interest. The 3-diamond component has, so far, been retained by a press fit in the metal. They were originally also glued in, but the glue was ineffectual, and ham-fisted handling of the inserts will push the diamonds...
I'm sure I'm not the only Pajero owner who is disappointed by shabby looking wheel centres (which, in my case, is ironic given the shabby-looking nature of my wheels...)
When used off-road the paint comes off, and the underlying...
1. Have you considered contacting Al-Ko to see if they have a solution? It might be a more significant initial investment (hubs & Paj wheels) but if you're intending to keep the Paj for more than a year or two then the convenience of matching wheels...
Is anybody else disturbed by the fact that a van manufacturer actually did that? How many members of the forum understand that this is a problem waiting to happen, but some van manufacturers either don't know, or don't care?...
The NS Pajero is rated to tow 2500 kg with a 250 kg ball weight. When the NT was introduced, the max ATM was increased to 3000 kg - but above 2500 kg, max ball weight reduces to 180 kg. In my opinion, Marketing said "We need a 3000 kg rating!"...
It's called a circuit because it's a closed loop - voltage source, load, and switch. Wherever the switch is placed, the current is the same, the voltage drop across the load is the same,...
I'm with you Stu - I don't believe it makes a difference.
Sparking is caused when switching an inductive load - current flowing in an inductor doesn't like to change (i.e. turn off), so a voltage is generated as the inductor tries to maintain...
I haven't watched the videos, so no comments about that content, but enjoy reading the input from those who work in safety-focused fields - that's where people generally know what they're talking about.
PaulMcG, your profile says Sunshine Coast. Why on earth do you think you need a 5W oil?
The product you had tested is a 5W oil with stuff added to reduce the rate at which it thins as it heats up - so that, at 100 degrees, it's no longer...
I use a tread depth gauge to measure tread depth on inner edge, middle and outer edge of all five tyres. I then put the most worn tyre on the back door, the two best tyres on the rear, and the other two on the front. I swap tyres side to side if they're...
I haven't seen the manual case myself, but I understand that the gear stick for the gearbox mounts to the top of the transfer case, and a rod pokes through the front of the case. I would've thought the front panel would swap over, but I heard of a gearbox...
It was dyno'd in 3rd gear. There is torque multiplication in the torque converter, and in the transmission. Torque at the engine is less - maybe 2/3 of torque at the wheels....
Not yet. My drawers (from the previous owner) push against that factory drop panel - so something like Kaon's solution won't fit. But I have been working on something similar to geopaj's solution......
If you're not worried about the gap in the covers, I have a bolt-in solution that spaces the frame out 170mm. The following pics are of the original 125mm version:
I've spent a bit of time playing with making cosmetic...
If anything, a front mount intercooler will send engine temps up while your engine is working hard, as it will pre-heat the air going through the radiator.
New coolant won't always improve temperatures, either. A higher glycol concentration...
Have you looked at diesel radiators? For the 3l / 2.5 td, the petrol is 2 core and the diesel 3 core, but seem to be otherwise identical. I have a vague recollection that the same was true for 3.5 vs 2.8td, so if you can find a good 4M40 radiator from...
When I needed a new key I bought a blank from Repco that was listed as suiting my Pajero. I called a mobile locksmith to do the cut & code, and the first thing they did was try it in the lock - it didn't fit.
If you have the swb you should be able to find some 16s that fit. Forget 15s - not just because they won't fit, but 15" tyres will have lower load ratings.
If you have the lwb and can find 16" rims that will fit over the brakes,...
Thank you Scooby - this is the correct way to calculate GCM, not simply GVM + ATM.
Which makes me wonder why Mitsubishi and Toyota have, for some vehicles only, established GCM figures that way when they're not practical? Could it possibly...
Aggregate Trailer Mass, like Gross Vehicle Mass, is a legally defined term, and ATM doesn't change whether it's hooked to a vehicle or not. End of story.
Ex factory, in Australia, no Gen 4 Pajero can tow an ATM of more...
I know there was a big fuss made about banning of GCM upgrades, but I recall this was quietly reversed some time later - I think there were some users on Farcebook claiming they've recently had GCM upgrades on a Gen 4 Pajero (which scares me, but I try...
I didn't care until I was coming home from Fraser, via Noosa. We planned to take all day, came down the beach, plan was to reinflate at Noosa for the run down the bitumen to home (near Springwood).
R is radius to the centre of the "tube", r is radius of the tube. And today I'm getting closer to 75 litres, so I don't know how I got 25 yesterday. So the 3 litre tank is even less...
I remember reading (a few decades back) an opinion that the original Jeep, and then the Land Rover, were intended to be driven in 2wd, and you only engage 4wd to back out after you get stopped.
I had a failing transfer case that wouldn't select the mode I wanted if it didn't see the right switch configurations at every step along the way e.g. if I was in 4LLc and wanted 2H, it would get upset and stop if it didn't like either 4HLc or 4H....
Was it used as a pilot vehicle? Might've done many km at low speed, too slow for regen to work properly. Scour the wreckers for a late model with low km, and buy the exhaust from that.
I expect that's more to remind the lazy-arsed dealership mechanic not to try using whatever screwdriver happens to be in his back pocket. Or to remind the workshop supervisor to smack said lazy-arsed mechanic across the back of the head when the screwdriver...
Personally, I have no issue with van drivers travelling at whatever speed they choose, but I do become extremely frustrated by those who show no consideration for the drivers behind them.
If there is a vehicle behind you, but none in front...
That's 4H as in 2H / 4H / 4HLc / 4LLc - not 4th gear.
Any concerns about towing in 5th in a Gen 4 auto should be about ATF fluid, not strength. The "5th gear is weak" issue relates to early 5 speed manual gearboxes (from other...
Loose brake callipers?
Loose pads in the callipers?
Something loose in the handbrake system?
Do you have a brake proportioning valve attached to the rear axle?...
I'll guess it's a synchro issue - special shaped toothed "synchronisation rings" that help to compensate for speed differences as the guts of the gearbox move between gears. Earlier Mitsubishi manuals had a bit of a reputation for touchy synchros,...
I'm with geopaj - something doesn't sound quite right here.
Do you have any form of print-out / alignment results from the wheel alignment? As geopaj asked, can you measure the vertical distance from the centre of wheel to the lip of the...
What's wrong with your case? To the best of my knowledge (and I've been hands-on with disassembly / reassembly of my transfer case) there are few differences between auto & manual versions of the transfer case, so depending on what's failed, it...
What did you include in your "major service"? Your NM Pajero has a Jatco transmission that has a reputation for being very sensitive to transmission fluid - if you don't use the correct specification...
In musical terms, the difference between musical notes is the twelfth root of 2. This is about a 6% change in frequency, for a step change between one note to the next. You could easily be detecting a lesser change, so you could...
Very good point! Stretching the memory, I recall that manual transfer cases have a Neutral position, and auto transfers don't - so I guess they're different beasts!
If you have a manual, I guess you'll need a manual transfer case....
The 6G72 had a smaller transfer case than 6G74 / 4M40T - I'm not sure about the 4M40.
I believe all the larger Gen 2 transfer cases have the same low range ratio (and high is straight through, 1:1), but I don't know if they all have the...
Towing weights and limits is a confusing topic to learn, not helped by the liberal use of many different TLAs - that's "three letter acronyms", like GVM, GCM and ATM. I don't know what AGM is, other than an Annual General Meeting... ...
I have a love-hate relationship with Dobinsons, but that's primarily around the remote reservoirs on the MRR shocks. The IMS version of their monotubes seems to get very good reports, and I believe they use Lovells springs, so I suggest you consider...
The "10% rule" is an Australian thing, partly due to our poorly designed caravans that have no regard for weight distribution, and our towing laws that allow us to tow poorly designed over-weight McMansions too fast, with a tow vehicle that...
I'd never really thought about it, until my last wheel alignment. Apparently my rear toe adjusters are seized on both sides, but camber adjusters are fine - thanks to your liberal application of James' Anti-Seize. So, to get my rear toe correct...
In more than 20 years of Web-wheeling I don't recall a single credible account of air bags deploying unnecessarily off road - certainly not in any Mitsubishi 4wd being used for recreational 4wding.
Did the new head unit come with a CAN bus module? If so, it could be interfering with CAN bus comms to the trip computer, depending on where / how it's connected, and whether it includes a termination resistor. Or not - I'm guessing.
I like the idea, but I wouldn't waste money on that unit - aside from the fact that it's discontinued, it lists being suitable only up to a 2 litre diesel engine. When "specifications" includes only 12 month warranty I don't consider it a...
I can confirm that a Gen 4 can spin all 4 wheels without traction control triggering.
January this year, in the Victorian High Country, I started up a track we'd never driven before. There had been rain on and off over the preceding days,...
Did your Kenwood unit come with a CAN Bus adaptor? In a Pajero, that does very little, and (as I understand it) nothing that you can't achieve with hardwired connections. Try disconnecting it, and see if you're still losing...
When I had a similar problem (P0961), my transmission was locked in 4th.
P0970 is an error caused by high resistance in the solenoid circuit - the transmission ECU can't push enough current through the solenoid. If you are...
Based on your post, your Pajero has an active DPF that requires regeneration "burns". Such DPFs were only installed in NS and MY17 NX onwards. Models outside this range, such as Jason's (and mine ), don't have...
That was in the final paragraph of the story linked at the start of this thread. ACCC must pay 80% of Jayco's costs, and Jayco must pay 20% of ACCC's costs - but that would make the headline too long.
I'm sure this isn't an answer you want to hear, but I believe you will struggle to find a mechanic to "fix" a problem that they can't reproduce. From your description, I suspect it's an overheating issue of some description in your transmission,...
Penrite's recommended fluid for the Aisin in the Pajero is ATF LV. Before the LV was released, they recommended ATF FS, which has a slightly higher viscosity than the LV - I believe both are within spec for the transmission, but the LV's slightly lower...
Googling "Autel AP200M" suggests it's an American product, intended for the US market. OBD2 became mandatory in the US in 1996, but wasn't mandatory in Australia until 2006. It may do more than standard OBD2 stuff on OBD2 compliant vehicles,...
My Shorty is a '94 3 litre, somewhat modified. I came back from a 5 week trip at over 2300 kg (without all the fuel, water, food, beer and wine that I had on board when we left), so I'd guess that fully loaded wasn't too far short of your 2500. ...
This. If it's warped discs, why doesn't it happen all the time?
If discs are warping as they get hot, that indicates a manufacturing problem - differential expansion within one disc? If they warp when they're hot, but are OK when they're...
I have. The place I used to use would wind them on with the rattle gun until the first rattle, then use a torque wrench to tighten - would get maybe 30 degrees rotation out of the torque wrench.
Based on your description, I suspect something is worn in your transfer case, and it's attempting to select 4wd on its own. The electrics aren't seeing the shifter move, or the internals move far enough to indicate 4wd has been selected, so no flashing...
Mine looks the same, and has two different settings - 5 seats (as shown in the ad) for when the vehicle is fully loaded, but push the centre button and the display shows only 2 seats, to indicate lightly...
These are the reasons why manufacturers of auto-lockers (more accurately auto-unlockers) state their products should not be installed in the front axle of full time 4wd vehicles.
Smelly fumes - is that rotten egg gas type fumes, suggesting a problem with your catalytic converter, or "rich" type fumes, suggesting a mixture problem? Did somebody stick a probe up the exhaust pipe?
Which simply wouldn't be possible somewhere like the Simpson Desert. If this truly is (still) in the Owner's handbook then I'd say the Pajero is no longer fit for purpose. ...
I'm also voting for incorrect oil to be number 1 suspect. The cynic in me suspects that, even if the dealer does keep different oils for the different vehicles, does the apprentice spanner-monkey care? Grab the nearest available oil and tip it in....
They should only be 2 pins, so you've got a 50:50 chance of getting the polarity right first time. Of course, if they're a quality light, it won't matter if you hook them up incorrectly - they'll have reverse polarity protection....
A bloke I used to work with was employed as a field service engineer. He was out on a routine service run somewhere in southern NSW when a call came in to attend a breakdown - somewhere above the snow line. Unplanned, so at an appropriate point, he...
FWIW:
My 3D printer extrudes ABS at 274 degrees Celsius, onto a bed that will heat to 100 degrees. The finished product remains rigid and strong in boiling water (don't ask...)
If the outlet was getting hot enough to affect ABS or...
Define EGR delete - has it been programmed out of the ECU, or do you have a resistor mod?
If you have a resistor mod, what value resistor is installed? All the resistor will do is fool the ECU into thinking the the intake air is much cooler...
I recall that, many years ago, there was a bit of an up-roar on another 4wd forum. Orders were long overdue, they wouldn't answer their phone / respond to emails, but their Facebook page was receiving regular updates of parties in their factory....
I interpret all that to say their system, before it's installed on a vehicle, is good for up to 150kg in dynamic conditions, but stick with the manufacturer's roof limit if it's less - which, in the case of Pajero, it is.
Once upon a time, Toyota were really on top of their game, and made a significant number of class-leading vehicles that were streets ahead of their competition.
That time is long gone, but too many purchasers have grown...
When climbing, the front is generally lightly loaded, it's pulling the vehicle in the direction you want to go, and it's easy for one front wheel to fractionally spin and allow steering.
I suspect you're giving them took much credit. Obviously, once upon a time, they were leaders in the space, and developed some iconic products. But currently, I don't believe it is still the same company. I see no evidence that the talent that developer...
Depending on whether this AC component is symmetrical or asymmetrical, your actual resistive losses in the wiring & fuse could be closer to 2A than 1.8A - or getting close to 20% more than the original globes.
Of course revolutions per km change with tyre pressure - this is how some factory TPMS systems, like the one in my Mk 6 Golf, operate. They use the ABS sensors to detect the change in rotational speed (compared to other tyres) as the pressure drops....
Yes, it is. But I'm guessing he's concerned if it's a genuine 7 year warranty, or analogous to the Mitsubishi non-statutory 10 year power train warranty that was only good for the original purchaser. I believe the Kia warranty is genuine....
So, the plastic printed inserts survived the high country, and have hung in there ever since. But I could never really get used to the look, and (as I discovered today) the rear insert was in the midst of an escape attempt.
And how much of that rolls back to the unionists who demand equal pay for equal work, while refusing to acknowledge that not everybody in equal roles produces equal output? When everybody gets paid the same, regardless of whether they perform diligently...
I didn't see what tyres you're running, which makes a difference to your cold pressures at any given load, and I must admit I've been seeing my pressures through observation for so long that I have...
Hmmm. 30 minute duty cycle? I'm accustomed to a duty cycle being expressed in terms of time on vs time off - is that 30 minutes continuous running before the thermal switch cuts it off? How long must it be left off before the next 30 minutes? ...
Sorry Dicko, but this is simply wrong. I believe you're thinking of charging lead acid batteries in series, not parallel. I expect the systems you maintained during your career were banks of batteries in series, to create higher voltages - probably...
Mitsubishi said wheel speed sensor error, and it's hard to figure how that could be affected by suspension lift - other than perhaps if, as has been suggested, excessive camber is somehow affecting things? Those rear figures are quite high, but front...
Sorry, but this is one of these internet myths that just refuses to go away.
Yes, Lithium is different, and can't be charged in a simple parallel install with a lead acid battery. All these "drop in replacement' lithium systems have...
Fully charge the battery at home, and plug in on the way to the campsite. Fridge will run happily, and the alternator should be able to replace most/all of the power that the fridge consumes as the compressor cycles on...
Not long before ARB released their current range of compressors, my job required me to find a compressor to build into a low volume machine. I looked at specs from all over the world (and recognised one or two compressors sold with brand names that were...
LEDs operate at a much lower voltage than battery voltage, so they come with in-built "drivers" that drop the vehicle's 12+ volts to whatever level the LED assembly requires....
Hi Leon, welcome to the forum, and congrats on your purchase.
You're already recognised that many "4wders" have no idea about the capabilities of anything without a Toysan or Nisota badge, so congratulations on making...
This. These fuses are there to protect the wiring - nothing else.
There are occasions where the engineers size the fuse incorrectly, leading to regular nuisance trips - but if that was the case with this fuse in these...
Factory DRLs will dim when parking lights turn on. They're needed during the day, but if they're working like they're supposed to, they'll be too bright at night....
While I share your frustration and disbelief that such a simple fault can cause such a confusing (and expensive-sounding) array of symptoms, I'd like to put forward the proposition that it wasn't an engineering decision to program this behaviour. I choose...
I love it! I think something like that is desperately required here in Australia, but I can already hear our lefty loonies bleating about the rights of the individual to create a rolling road-hazard that endangers the lives of the masses....
I expect Jayco recommend a WDH because not too many factory stock rear suspensions will like 230kg on the tow ball, along with a "traditional" load inside the vehicle. Have you purchased, or are you still shopping?
My 2c (excluding GST - there is no value added...)
The 10% is only a "rule of thumb", not a hard and fast rule. Some engineering studies have suggested 6 - 7% ball weight is optimum, and such levels are the norm in some other...
In my opinion, it will be an exercise in futility.
The rear socket has a comparatively long run of ridiculously small cable - as soon as your aux battery attempts to draw any charging current, the voltage drop in the cable will effectively...
My NT came with Air Lockers, which come with an air compressor. Mine is a single head, mounted under the passenger seat, and for such a small compressor it's amazing how well it performs compared to the larger (and cheaper) portable units.

Call Chadstone Mitsubishi, ask to speak to Paul Hicks - the Service Manager.
Yes, manual transfer cases are harder to find, but it shouldn't be too hard to swap the "manual bits" from your buggered case onto a good auto case. ...
Not exactly a high stretch strap - I think the stretch we saw was the knots tightening, so not a lot of energy ever stored. Light weight front wheel drive couldn't get a lot of traction to accelerate, and didn't generate a...
Yes, TJM were snatching sensibly, as we all should.
But, as we have all seen on Youtube, some drivers don't use snatch straps sensibly - either too much momentum, or unsuitable attachment points, or both. ...
Everybody wants to be allowed to be responsible for their own actions, until something goes wrong - then the bottom feeding "liability lawyers" come sniffing around and "it's not my...
Ralliart was a global brand - I would expect Ralliart to be involved in Pajero enhancements (global application) before Magna (Australia only). Anything developed by Ralliart for Magna is more likely to be based on Pajero components...
A reasonable thought, but I think you're giving too much credit. Some of these companies would have no idea, as I think we are seeing with the current debacle.
Where does this come from? I'm not aware of any regulatory requirement...
Ultimately, it probably isn't that important, as the posted specs do tell a story. Yes, your aux battery is physically small, and 50Ah capacity isn't particularly big. Depending on your fridge, it's likely...
1. the few number of manufacturers of commercial passenger aircraft
2. the cost of each aircraft
3. the funds available to each development budget

Technically, a vehicle only needs to be legally registered in its home state, and it is considered roadworthy across the country - except in Queensland, because they march to the beat of a different drum......
Yes, we do have regulations, but it can be a little tricky keeping up with them.
Vehicle modification laws are written by our states, so we don't have uniform national laws - but we do have a National Code of Practice, which some states...
Yes, that post is referring to the MY17 NX, which saw the reintroduction of an active DPF. A recent post on Facebook from "Mr Pajero" stated that the hardware in the 2017 NX system is identical to the the NS system. This active DPF hardware...
I went down the same route, and concluded it's not going to work.
I presume that Mitsubishi weren't sure if the early NT would need the active DPF of the NS, or if they could pass emissions with the passive DPF, so the engine ECU was designed...
Never confuse popularity with the quality of the product.
I suspect things like these have relatively low demand, particularly at their price point. Supply & demand is inexorably linked to price - the higher the price, the lower...
A hatchet job. No mention of compensating for the wheel being measured being higher than the others i.e. spring is further compressed, so must be carrying more weight.
The single solitary comment, to which the web site did not respond,...
I saw elsewhere here that you have an NT Pajero - same as mine. I have metal stemmed internal tyre pressure sensors (same as OJ's), and I have no specific concerns about their reliability. But these T-valves are a different issue.
The 3% accuracy doesn't sound that impressive. I'm not sure how much your van weighs, or if you have a single axle or dual, but let's think about weighing your tow vehicle.
Again, not sure what you have, but if you're worried about weights...
An after market torque converter lockup kit will give you fuel economy benefits that cannot be obtained by careful driving alone. But if you're prepared to use Sports mode and make gear selection decisions yourself then you don't need Auto-mate - lockup-mate...
I too have been looking for an idle-up, primarily for airing up. It may sound trivial, but I can hear the pitch change in my compressor as the voltage rises when I nudge the pedal, and the higher voltage will pump up my tyres slightly faster - and I...
Engineers and physicists talk about "mass - spring - damper" systems because all three are important - change any one, and the system as a whole is affected. Valving that is bad for one mass - spring combination may work well with another....
Where is your jack located under the lower control arm? It needs to be close to the outer edge to cause the suspension to compress (i.e. twist the torsion bar). If it is too close to the pivot point, you're lifting the cross member...
I think you've nailed the decision. Buy the van, try loading it legally, and testing it. Only worry about a new tow vehicle if you really can't make your Pajero work.
Keep in mind that just about every other vehicle on your list...
According to Wikipedia, the A750F was introduced to the LandCruiser 100 Series in 2003, and the Prado in 2005. The ML Triton was introduced in 2005 (as best I can tell) and Mitsubishi...
Which spec NX, and do you have MMCS, or the Rockford Fosgate system?
I have a vague recollection that some models didn't get the compass module because the MMCS had navigation built in, but I don't know if that extended to NX. My 2009 NT...
It's been a few years, but I have a vague recollection of fitting new leads to my NJ, then going back to the OEM leads - I think intermittent misfiring was part of the problem. Just because the leads are new doesn't mean they're not part of the problem....
So I watched Ronny's video, then found Tyler's original, and listened to it while I was working in the kitchen. Most of it I didn't see, but I did spot this image:
Call me crazy, but I'd say those rivets have corroded through, not...
This is important. Springs and shocks work as a set, and need to suit each other. If you're not happy with your ride quality, don't assume it's the spring - it could be the shock.
When I bought my NJ the front suspension was horrid on the...
I can't help to identify them, but OJ might be able to help with the bigger question.
If you can post up free length, wire diameter and number of turns he might be able to compare with the springs he has on file. Check the wire diameter...
I'll guess worn brushes in the starter motor. The solenoid is pulling in, but the motor doesn't turn because the brushes are jammed in their sleeves, and not making good contact with the commutator.
I reckon the assessor is nuts. If you can get something in writing from Toyo that states they're fine, put in a formal complaint about the assessor - how many people is he screwing over like this?
Fair questions, and I can only guess at the answers myself.
I believe the third column relates to different countries of manufacture, and the systems of measurement they use i.e. in the first column, it seems that 35psi would be the American...
On this forum, can we please use appropriate Super Select terminology when discussing these issues? A Gen 3 Pajero doesn't simply have "4wd" - it has 4H (sometimes referred to as "full time 4wd" or AWD), 4HLc (the traditional high...
I'm with Keithyv, Dicko & OJ - that "3309" isn't a date code.
These tyres are moulded. The date code needs to change every week, so it will be a removable insert in the mould, and the edges of the insert will be visible in...
The electrically operated transfer case in the Gen 3 & 4 won't change to or from low range unless the transmission is in neutral. Are you sure you're not still in 4 Low?
I now carry a large 7 pin round plug with inbuilt test LEDs, and an adaptor to suit 7 pin flat connectors. If somebody is having trouble with trailer lights, plug in the LEDs and quickly determine if the vehicle is putting out the right signals....
As others have alluded, most multimeters measure current by inserting the leads in series with the circuit you want to measure. The more sensitive ranges are protected by a fuse (250mA for my oldest multimeter), but often have an unfused input for measuring...
On my NT, I measured 6.6V in the line supplying power to the factory reversing camera. To make the factory camera work with an aftermarket head unit I created a little power regulator PCB to recreate the 6.6V. My lazy first attempt with a 6V output...
I've never performed a wheel alignment in my life, so I'm not pretending to be an expert on this. But I do have an understanding of what most of the measurements represent, and enough knowledge of the Pajero's suspension to understand a little of what's...
Contrary to internet opinion, cooler isn't always better. Mechanical systems such as engines and transmissions are designed to run at a particular temperature, plus or minus some.
Adjustment of the mechanical linkage on the side of the transmission. There is a physical cable attached between the shifter inside the cabin, and a small lever on the passenger side of the transmission. If the cable isn't adjusted properly, the little...
When you jacked the car up, how? Full droop of the entire axle can be different from full drop of one wheel only i.e. max articulation. I suspect max articulation at the rear can also vary slightly depending on what's happening at the front i.e. if...
That is clearly a tyre defect. Under-inflated tyres blow out the side wall, and the failure is completely different.
Arguably, it's Mitsubishi's problem, because they sold the tyre with the Pajero, but Mitsubishi should be handballing it directly to...
No, contact cleaner won't fix it. It's about 7 loops of a highly flexible strip of printed circuit, that effectively rolls and unrolls as you turn the wheel (sort of - it's hard to explain without pictures)....
I have read that, with tandem axles, tow ball height can affect tow ball weight - something to do with the "nose down" attitude transferring weight from the rear axle onto the two ball. I can sort of see that happening,...
I'd be inclined to try the fluid flush first, as that process might highlight other issues that might be lurking hidden in the depths of your transmission. If flush doesn't fix it, and you have identified additional concerns to investigate, knock them...
I understand the desire for a Gen 2, they're a well-sorted & reliable design that, aside from the modern electric dohickery, has offroad performance that still stands up well against the modern...
I don't really follow what you've posted, but let me post something anyway.
Pickle's Pajero has (amongst other acronyms) stability control (aka ASC) and traction control (aka TC, not to be confused with TC aka torque converter......
So, those of you who have been paying attention may have recognised that it's that time of year - time for me to head to Victoria's High Country, and meet up with Pickle for a drink or 17.
First, you don't need any DCDC charger, much less an expensive one. I say this as someone who owns one, and I don't "need one" to compensate for a smart alternator.
Theoretically, but it's a horribly inefficient way to do it - step 12V up to 220V (a potentially deadly voltage, if you're unlucky), then bring it back down to some unknown voltage inside the battery charger, to then be chopped for charging the battery....
The two survived the first day of suburban run-around, and they're off to the Victorian High Country on Monday. If they survive that trip, and I don't decide I dislike them, I might tweak the design a little - try...
I lost one of the caps for the new wheels, and most of them (new & mine) are missing paint - so I thought I'd have a crack at making something. I've now fitted two to one side of the Paj, I'll see if they're still there when I get...
I bought a set of four tyres second-hand, with a set of 5 good wheels (one HT spare tyre). I bought them sight unseen, taking a gamble that wheels & tyres + freight still worked out at reasonable value....
After 39k km I've retired these tyres. They were about 50% worn, so plenty of road-legal life in them, but I bought them to be chunky, aggressive, off-road tyres with plenty of rubber to keep the rocks away from the air inside - with so much rubber gone,...
AdBlue is a urea solution. If left stagnant for too long, the urea can crystallise, and block the injector lines. This means no AdBlue injection, which means no emissions control, which is not desirable - so AdBlue systems are gifted sufficient intelligence...
Your diff ratio should be on a build plate under your bonnet. You most likely have 3.917, but you could have 4.100 - look for those numbers (without the decimal) stamped on an aluminium plate.
Front & rear drive shafts are locked in the transfer case, so they will turn at the same speed. Diff output shafts will average the drive shaft speed (divided by the diff ratio).
I bought a set of 5 NT 17" wheels because they came with some tyres I wanted.
The wheels are in excellent condition, with no dents, chips or gouges, but there are some surface marks on some of them - check the pics for details. ...
These wheels had four good tyres on them - I wanted the tyres.
I'm keeping my beat-up 17" rims, because nobody would be silly enough to buy them, and selling these without tyres. If I put these wheels on my Paj, I'd beat them up in...
I have a set of 5 17" NT wheels for sale, in almost perfect condition. I'm hoping to post an ad, with pics, this afternoon. But they're in Adelaide, so that may not help...
My NT came with a Uniden UHF in that position, which wasn't performing too well. So I replaced it with an Icom unit, that I remote mounted beside the glove box. The empty spot I filled with an off the shelf DIN storage bucket that I found in Repco...
No, the rear axle probably isn't strong enough to take the entire engine output through one wheel. An open diff, even with TC, will never send more than half the available engine output to one wheel. If one wheel has good...
Personally, I don't have anything against Val Rigoli, he generally writes well and provides useful information - unlike some other internet-infesters, who don't understand what they're writing, misquote information out of context and create...
Good question, I've never really thought about it before.
Theoretically, the tension in the bridle should be the same either side of the point, but realities of friction etc. (as the snatch strap slides to find the point) could affect what...
The plastic bucket will stop radiated heat from the engine, convected heat from air flow, but ultimately heat will conduct from the hot engine bay to the battery. It may slow down the temperature...
Correct. . Winch isolator. Traditionally, I left the main power cable disconnected from the battery, which was a minor pain on those few occasions that...
I bought my NT already fitted with Air Lockers front & rear, and the factory ECU doesn't know they exist. My lockers are always used with the TC enabled.
In this respect, the Aisin transmission is much better than the Jatco transmission. Many owners of the Jatco transmission report massive improvement in engine braking by locking the torque converter. In the Aisin, I can't discern a difference in braking...
There's nothing smart about these diodes - they create a voltage drop between the battery and the voltage regulator, to fool the alternator into increasing its output voltage - all the time. The best way to bring the starting battery to a premature...
Do you drive the trucks in auto, or manually select a lower gear for engine braking? As posted by JasonMc, I regularly use manual mode to select a lower gear for engine braking, but I rarely tow.
What would be the implications for remote area use e.g. somewhere deep in the High Country? Are these failures an immobilising thing e.g. drag it onto a flat-bed, or could the average competent back-yarder get the vehicle moving again?
A cheap & nasty solution could be a diode between solar regulator and starting battery - it's unlikely you'll ever get full charge in your starting battery from your solar, but it should never go flat either. The diode...
I feel the same. I'd take my chances on the new pads wearing quickly.
I'd also find somebody else to supply & fit - I think the Bendix 4wd pads recently installed in the front of my NT cost less than $100 to buy, and I don't recall what...
Emissions. In the testing laboratory, attempting to pass the contrived test, every little bit helps to reduce emissions from the exhaust pipe - like reducing the final drive ratio by 5%, at the expense of real world fuel consumption.
In a previous job I was responsible for testing the backup batteries in medical equipment, many of which were simple 12V VRLAs. In an airconditioned workshop, at any float voltage below 13.8V, charge current...
I don't have a wiring diagram for the MY20 Pajero, but earlier models with the smart alternator e.g. MY13 had the current sensor hard wired - definitely NOT wireless.
Your 4M41 has both a crank angle sensor and a camshaft position sensor - I expect the ecu is looking to see these pulsing to know that the engine is running.
Are you looking to use the solar to charge the starting battery, or an auxiliary?...
If you're using a browser, do you browse in portrait or landscape? On my mobile, using Chrome, I get items appearing in landscape that don't appear when I'm in portrait. The orientation of the device...
As your Pajero is NX, questions like this one would get the best response in our Gen 4-4 forum, not Gen 4-3 where you've posted this - so I'll move it for you.
I'm using Chrome on Windows 10. PMs open in a separate window, which I can make bigger or smaller, but the actual text entry window is fixed height. And I don't have a Preview button.
Time for another update! For those who have been kept in suspense, I can confirm that the Toyota brake pad anti-rattle clip fits the Pajero calipers - no great surprise there.
Over the last couple of weeks I've been slowly working towards...
Disco stu may be onto something here. I had a few devices similar to these in my NT, and my old Samsung tablet would only draw 500mA max. I did a little research and discovered that some devices like to see a particular voltage on the USB data pins...
These device are miniature DC - DC devices, so input and output voltage & current are largely independent of each other. It's the power figure that you need to worry about.
In an ideal world, two separate cables on two separate fuses, to reduce the risk of one fault cutting power to both fridges - pulling up at the end of the day with no cold beer would be disastrous.
I always thought a hootchie is thrown over a line between two trees / other convenient points, and pegged down on opposite sides i.e. in inverted V. A separate groundsheet would be required?
Wow! Watching that video, I wonder if there's more to the story - those rails seemed to fail quite easily. I will admit, whenever I consider overloading rails and having them fail, that's not what I imagine. Having seen that failure, I wonder if part...
My 2c. I've never slept in a swag, but have often slept on the ground without a tent. Currently, my touring solution is a Malamoo instant up tent, if I'm planning to be somewhere a little longer, a cheap little OzTent tunnel tent that continues to...
This. The DC-DC should be as close to the aux battery as possible, to reduce voltage drop in the cables while charging at higher currents. Redarc's manual states no more than 1m from the battery. It will still work if there's a larger distance between...
Towing increases the load on the drivetrain, leading to the factory transmission ecu unlocking the torque converter more often, which is the major source of transmission heat.
An after-market transmission cooler is attempting...
Correct. There isn't a direct connection between the two batteries. The DC-DC charger takes voltage from your starter battery, chops it up, then re-assembles it to send it to your auxiliary battery. The output to the Aux battery could be higher or...
1. Yes, wired direct from each battery will give the most accurate reading. Voltmeters don't draw a lot of current, so pretty much any size wire will suffice, but please put a fuse at each battery. A short circuit...
During cornering, an accelerating tyre (with the right amount of torque) has better grip than one that is simply being pushed at the same speed. This is why all-wheel drive vehicles generally outperform...
On the original question, yes - the spot lights will affect airflow through the radiator. The question is - how much? Will the difference have a material effect on engine cooling?
But OJ has cut to the chase - why such low temperatures...
Nobody gets anything for nothing. More response, more power requires more fuel. The only way to save fuel is to drive more efficiently - which chips such as yours can help to achieve, if you drive appropriately....
As I understand the theory, when some engines overheat, localised hot-spots cause the pressurised coolant to boil - in those hot-spots. Once the coolant has boiled in those spots, it's a vicious circle - the coolant boiled because it naturally over-heats...
By "electronic throttle", if you mean "fly by wire", this wasn't introduced in the petrol motors until the 3.8. If both vehicles (yours, and donor) are V6 you should be OK.
I'm not familiar with wiring differences between...
I drive in sports mode all the time, primarily because I have paddles and MM 4x4's paddle-mate, and can't help but use them. I can't drive in D, even when I try.
Back in the days of 4wd Monthly Pat made no secret of the fact that he wanted to raise his public profile purely so that he could find a way to earn a living from doing what he loves most.
A fan can restrict airflow if it isn't spinning fast enough compared to ram flow i.e. ram air speed is higher than the air speed that the fan would otherwise generate. In this instance,...
According to Mitsubishi Australia website, Pajero Exceed kerb weight is 2375 kg, vs 2110 for the Sport equivalent. Given the OP hasn't listed specific models of each this is an academic discussion, but while we're drilling into weights:
Broadly speaking, this is true - but it has happened.
Not long after the Gen 3 was released I was told a story about a couple of Mitsubishi Club members on a beach. Both Gen 2s, one had a Commodore 3.8 conversion, the other had cranked...
The original owner of my NT installed the compressor under the passenger seat, and that's where I plug in my hose to inflate tyres. There's not a lot of room under there for a tank, so I'll need to find...
We still don't know if you're running original factory wheels, or something aftermarket. A massively different offset wheel (the metal bit - not the rubber tyre) will place extra strain on wheel bearings and steering components, which could be contributing...
This. The chip has injected more fuel than the factory ecu realises. That display is no longer accurate. Calculate your fuel consumption based on odometer readings and fuel dispensed at the pump....
1. Your fan is "direct drive" without a clutch - I presume it's still mounted to the water pump? What size is the pulley? If, for whatever reason, the pulley is too large then the pump won't be spinning as fast...
Next silly question. Have you checked the 115 degree reading with an independent measurement of some kind? Dash saying normal at 115 C doesn't sound right - I would expect it to be showing higher than normal by 110 degrees.
A little from left field: I presume the rear aircon has an evaporator that creates condensation, which needs to drain to somewhere. How does that work?
I'm not denying that both will happen. Ultimately, somewhere off in the future, we'll stop burning fossil fuels to generate electricity, and to move passenger vehicles.
Between now and then, our renewable electricity generation will displace...
I was reading a news story about comments made by the head of Toyota regarding the world's rush to electric vehicles. This got me thinking about how much electricity we would need in Australia if we all converted to pure EVs (i.e. no hybrids, no hydrogen...
Intake air temperature changes based on boost and speed (airflow through the intercooler). Cruising at 100km/h on flat ground and no significant wind, the best I've ever seen is about 18 degrees above ambient - lately, I seem to cruise around 25 degrees...
Web Suspension in Holden Hill were a reliable suspension installer (and a few doors down the road from where Dobinsons used to be), but they're under new management, and it appears they have all new staff.
Is it my imagination, or has your NL been converted from a petrol? If so, was the radiator changed? I believe the petrol motors use a 2 core radiator, the diesels have a 3 core.
Get yourself an OBD device of some description, such as Ultragauge (stand alone device) or Torque Pro (Android app). These will let you monitor coolant, intake air and transmission temperatures, actual temperature readings and not some rough interpretation...
Fundamentally, I'm with whitso - go easy on your winch, to let heat dissipate.
Having said this, I put a length of yellow sleeve over the end of my rope, to kid myself that it will provide a little heat protection. When the sleeve comes...
I don't have a wiring diagram to check, but reverse lights often have constant power, and are earthed via a switch in the gearbox. So I would guess you have a short to earth somewhere in your wiring.
Traditionally, fuses and circuit breakers are installed to protect the wiring, to make sure the insulation isn't damaged / burned during overload / short circuit. Motor protection circuit breakers (typically for AC motors) are a special class, designed...
Thanks Chris, and while I appreciate the assistance, they're coming from further afield than Parramatta, and the tyres alone are 25kg each - so each wheel & tyre is closer to 40kg, or approaching 200kg all up (for five of them).
You may have had two problems (fan friction and old battery) that effectively countered each other. Now that you have swapped out the old battery, the fan friction is showing up.
Thanks for your efforts, but I'm an impatient bugger. I thought about it today, and concluded that the best price I received was fair (and some were simply opportunistic, and some didn't reply) so I've pulled the trigger.
Personally, I don't think electric vehicles really add up economically, not if you include a "convenience cost". They (currently) only really work for the environmentally conscious who don't travel large distances, and/or have heaps of time...
Mine? Mine are used (and abused?) because I use my Pajero to the full extent of it's abilities (and beyond?) Why would I put pretty ones on it, just to (ab)use them too?
From memory, there are some screws behind the trim strip above the glove box, and more screws in the footwell - I think the plastic panel between dash and firewall needs to come out too.
I think the upper trim strip pops out with a trim...
I've found a set of wheels & tyres in NSW, but before I purchase them, I need to know how I'm going to get them to Adelaide. A road trip isn't an option for me...
Any hints or tips? I have a listing on Freight Seek, but thought I'd...
As OJ points out, the towball down-force is only part of the issue, as the dynamic effects of weight distribution is more significant than simple COG measurements.
Mitsubishi Motors Australia, in their infinite wisdom, allow a 10% ball weight...
I think it's a great idea to encourage drivers to know their weights, but I wonder how the psychology would play out in people's minds? If you're confident you're correct, and want to confirm how far within your limits you might be, then such a facility...
General consensus with the Gen 4 is that the temp gauge has a significant "dead zone" around normal - from about low 80s to somewhere over 100 degrees it's difficult to spot movement in the factory gauge. Once the Gen 4 gauge moves above half...
Can our gurus have a look at the PM reply window? It's a narrow window that only has a few lines, and scrolling with my mouse wheel makes the lines jump more than the size of the window. And I can't find a "preview" option, to review the...
Yes, the flappy paddle assembly from an ASX or Outlander of a similar vintage will fit your steering column, but you'll probably find your factory steering column covers are far too small for the paddles to fit inside.
As a PM, my pet hate is turning up to a work site and being presented with the sign-on page for the SWMS / JSA (or JSHA, or JSEA, or whatever it's called for that particular site). It's "sign...
If you had an air leak causing extra air to be sucked in I would expect idle control to still be able to compensate. To me, it seems that your idle control mechanism is not working as it should.
