Airbags in coil springs act by expanding outwards and not lengthwise.

The front suspension of Gen 3/4 Pajero's cannot be fitted with "inserts" to my knowledge, the complete strut must be replaced.
The coils can be reused if you are happy with the ride heights, comfort and body roll....-
