    There is rear output shaft bearing, but this has no effect nor contact with the tailshaft, the slip joint where the shaft goes into the extension housing has a bush in there - you cant buy the bush on its own, you can still get the extension housing...

    Fairly common thing with mitsubishi in general as the k's begin to get up. What oil are you using atm? It would be worth running a bottle of lifter cleaner through it - but the proper stuff that generally only trade can get, 10 - 15 buks from memory....

    So im told, you run the risk of cracking the crank using that technique, the only reason a mechanic should be doing it is because of lack of tools or know how... There are torque multiplying breaker bars specific for the job, in a lot of cases there...

    Apparently on the dohc 3.5 nj, you need an emulator type thing to symulate that the injectors are workin, im told this is about 600 buks and without it, the ecu light will stay on... im sure not all systems are like this though, but its worth following...

    It gets worse then that too though - if you have an NJ or NK, (DOHC) you can no longer get the origional lifters, the genuine replacement is shorter and requires a new rocker aswell... it worked out to a retail of just over 100 each...

    Its actually only one lifter thats noisy - it did fix the rest. I use a semi sythetic - 15 40 or 10 30 depending on winter / summer

    Its was most likely nulon lifter free... they have 2 different types, traditional plastic bottle stuff, and then the comercial stuff that kinda looks like its in a thinners tin, could only buy it on a trade account. I have the same problem, like everyone...

    There is a fusable link at the back of the socket - its very common for this to blow - you can repair / bypass or replace it. But do as cutting it said and test for voltage there first.

    Supply and demand - there is basically no demand for a NA deisel pajero - that era was slow enough with a turbo. I dont think its too cheap. As for the things to look for, all the usal stuff, do a search, its been covered many times....

    Theres a seal that the spline of the cv passes through into the diff itself, it is mroe then likely it got damaged when putting the shaft back in, or even possibly when takign it out.

    Ive never replaced one myself, but i doubt its anything...

    No damage will come from continuing to drive it. Theres a couple of causes, a leaking rear main seal, excessive heat from riding the clutch or something liek that or when the gearbox is installed its possible to bend the pressure plate.

    Ive done the tfc / gearbox breather on mine, it was so simple its not funny. The standard breather is shared between the tfc and box, it runs up to the top of the bell housing on the drivers side and bolts to a bracket in between the motor and the gearbox....

    As far as i know, the gear box's are the same but the bell housing and input shaft will most likely be different. On the NJ onwards with the 3.5 or 2.8 it was like this, same gearbox, diff input shaft and bellhousing. Maybe some help to you?

    Definately not, nearly every paj owner thats lifted the front of their car has done it with stock bars - you'll find that you would prolly get a better ride if they replaced, but thats about all.

    As pickle and others have said, your fuel tank is removed, lpg tank put in its place, on the passenger side, in between the diff and tfc a smaller replacement fuel tank is installed.

    I actually agree with your installer, most of the current mixer systems with electronic adjustment rely on the oxy sensor for fine tuning, airflow metre etc plays no roll. If it was an injected system on the other hand....

    With the clutch, idealy you would have the flywheel machined, replaced the spigot bearing and also your rear main seal - theres another $100buks for ya....

    It would be vary difficult if you i didnt remove the radiator, so the coolant needs...

    The drive belts i wouldnt be concerned about - if the appear to have any signs of cracks etc, fine replace them, if not i wouldnt worry.

    As for the front stuff, at those k;s, assuming you dont know the complete history of it, id replace...

    The petrol NL's were pretty economical on a trip, just over 10 ltrs per 100. If i were faced with teh same question i would chose petrol without question.... simular economy, simular torque, better power and performance, more refinement, quiter etc....

    Depends on your gun, i think the dimples your reffering to are orange peal - so straight of the gun without being rubbed back would leave you with a very simular finish.

    Further to that, wats worse, gouges or a slightly smoother finis...

    To some degree, if its deeply scratched or something, sure - if there are holes or something youll need to support it from behind obviously. As for painting, being that its not bare plastic, theres no need for primers or anything.

    I've seen air flow metres die within days after being cleaned... I cleaned mine with carby cleaner some 2 years ago, no problems yet, better economy, got rid of the surging down low etc. If you think oil or dust is coming through, change it.
